The University of Waterloo Submarine Racing, or in short ‘WatSub’, started as an engineering project on December 2014, becoming officially the first submarine racing team in Ontario. With only two members then, the team soon grew to over 130 general members and a tight core-team, a bold statement from the University of Waterloo students who proved to be eager to tackle new challenges.
The team lives inside the Sedra student design centre, a University of Waterloo, state of the art, facility that houses over 25 student teams, the largest of its kind in North America. Read more about it here.
‘WatSub’ will make its first appearance on the eISR 2016 international competition, with its 1st submarine ‘Amy’, and a year later (2017) will participate on the 14th edition of the ISR international competition.
